Meet Our Founder & CEO
Aanya Johri — Visionary. Mentor. Advocate.

Aanya Johri is the heart behind Crowned in Confidence—a nonprofit born from the belief that confidence isn’t something you're born with, it’s something you grow into—with support, guidance, and community. A current student at UC Berkeley and aspiring medical doctor, Aanya is driven by both her heritage and her hope for the future: to create a world where every girl, no matter where she starts, believes she belongs in rooms of opportunity.

My Story

Born in Newport Beach and raised in Folsom, CA, Aanya grew up surrounded by the values of perseverance, education, and service. Her mother, a Hmong American woman, was the first in her family to graduate from college—an achievement that planted deep roots of resilience and inspiration in Aanya’s life.

From the soccer field to the classroom, Aanya has always found purpose in uplifting others. But it wasn’t until she moved to Fresno that the vision for Crowned in Confidence truly took shape. In meeting girls from the Central Valley—many of whom had never left their hometowns or had access to mentors— she realized how different her own college journey had been. With the support of her parents, she had toured campuses, had help with applications, and felt encouraged every step of the way. She was often approached by students and families asking, “How did you get here? Can you help me?”

Those questions sparked a mission.

Crowned in Confidence began with Aanya’s simple belief: that confidence grows when girls are seen, supported, and encouraged. Through mentorship and shared experiences—and with the guidance of women leaders who lead by example—she hopes to create a space where young women feel less alone and more empowered to take the next step, whatever that may look like for them. It’s about building a community where girls lift each other up, walk through new doors with courage, and learn to wear their confidence like a crown.

Her Power. Her Future.

Whether you’re a student, parent, educator, mentor, or supporter—your voice matters here. If you have a question, want to get involved, or just want to share your story, I invite you to reach out. Together, we’re building something rooted in purpose, and I’m so glad you’re part of it.
